Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill (AIMI) is seeking volunteers. Tonight we welcome Zora Ray, who is AIMI's Advocacy Coodinator for Drug/Alcohol Dependencies, Zora Ray, at 9pmEST. Please call to speak on air at (818) 572-2947. Everyone is invited! Zora is a retired psychiatric nurse who successfully battled drug addiction and depression herself, and she looks forward to helping other people. Email Zora at the address below:

ZoraJayPhoenix@gmail.com

As a AIMI advocate, Zora will try to find treatment centers and other services for persons who suffer from drug/alcohol dependencies. AIMI believes that persons with drug/alcohol addictions need TREATMENT, NOT PUNISHMENT. Therefore, Zora will attempt to have drug/alcohol-dependent defendants tried in drug courts rather than regular criminal courts, and she will attempt to influence decision makers to sentence addicts to treatment rather than to jails and prisons.

If you would like to work with AIMI as a volunteer, please contact MaryLovesJustice at MaryLovesJustice@gmail.com or call AIMI's director at (678)531.0262 or (571)335-1741. We need people of every race and socioeconomic status, because mental illness affects people from every group. No matter what your skills and educational level may be, AIMI has a volunteer job for you.
