This week on PNN Brook discusses her Covid journey through vaccine hesitancy and her post-jab TIA (transient ischemic attack). The rest of the story of my very first mini-stroke is available over at PNN's The Lefty Lounge on Anchor/Spotify.

Jeanine will discuss the Executive Order issued by Governor Ron DeSantis which remands decisions regarding masking and vaccination of children in our public schools—to the parents. Governor DeSantis has wrongfully framed the decision to mask a child under age 12 as a civil right for parents. Furthermore, DeSantis mentioned a study conducted by Brown University as rationale for this policy. He wrongfully implied that the Brown study and analysis found no correlation between mask mandates and varying levels of COVID in the schools.

To quote from the Executive Order:

"WHEREAS, despite recent Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “guidance,” forcing students to wear masks lacks a well-grounded scientific justification; indeed, a Brown University study analyzed COVID-19 data for schools in Florida and found no correlation with mask mandates;"

What DeSantis failed to mention was that the author of this study is an ECONOMIST and not an EPIDEMIOLOGIST, which is an expert in mass transmission of communicable diseases.

Jeanine will dispute the specious claim made by DeSantis. She will also challenge the governor, claiming that the rights of parents to make decisions for their children are NOT without limits by citing the laws involving child abuse, neglect (including medical neglect), and reckless endangerment.
