Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) & its lesser known and misunderstood counterpart and related pathology, Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), are both disorders that many people know, but the majority of laypeople don’t properly understand, and about which are misinformed.

Many people use these terms interchangeably, or to label simple fastidiousness or being particular.

Tonight, we hope to educate our audience on the correct and most current understandings of these and related disorders.

OCD is one of the more popular pathologies to tackle in media, pop culture, and entertainment, and it is surrounded by a laundry list of stereotypes, bad data, assumptions, near-romanticizing of having it, and other inaccuracies, that we hope to address, explain, and/or debunk this evening.

Tonight, we will discuss

  1. An Overview of OCD & OCPD
  2. Current Understanding of OCD & OCPD
  3. Myths & Misconceptions about OCD & OCPD
  4. Resources for OCD & OCPD

We'll start off the evening with some topic-relevant Classic Rock played by Dr. Mathis, followed by Classic Rock trivia in "The Rock & Roll Shrink Recalls," followed by our topic discussion.
