National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event in the United States, which is held annually on the first Tuesday in August, to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. It was created to increase awareness about police programs in communities.

National Association of Town Watch launched National Night Out. It is the nation’s premiere non-profit crime prevention organization dedicated to the development and promotion of crime prevention in communities across the nation.
