My name is Aniqa Raihan. I am a second semester senior at the George Washington University and a survivor of sexual assault. It took me two and a half years to build up the courage to report my rapist, but I finally did in the Fall of 2016. I went through a long and deeply uncomfortable hearing in December and finally heard back from GW on March 24, 2017--95 days later.

Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourse or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without that person's consent. The act may be carried out by physical force, coercion, abuse of authority, or against a person who is incapable of giving valid consent, such as one who is unconscious, incapacitated, has an intellectual disability or is below the legal age of consent. - Wikipedia
