In this episode, meet an incredible woman, Kathy Stevens, who's love of animals led her to found the Catskill Animal Sanctuary. Kathy is also the author of Where the Blind Horse Sing: Where the Blind Horse Sings chronicles Kathy’s experiences with remarkable personalities -- both animal and human -- in creating one of the country’s most successful sanctuaries for abused and neglected farm animals. You will laugh, you cry, you will fall in love... Catskill Sanctuary is a safe home for farm animals, an advocate for those who can’t stand up for themselves, and a resource for education Catskill Animal Sanctuary is located in Saugerties, NY, two hours north of New York City, in the heart of the Hudson Valley. Started in 2001, CAS works to: Provide a safe and loving haven for abused, abandoned, and neglected horses and farm animals Raise awareness of how farm animals are treated, and how this impacts us and the environment Serve as an educational resource to schools, youth organizations, and other community organizations, through on- and off-site programs Since it was started, CAS has provided refuge for over 1,500 desperately needy farm animals: horses, cows, goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, rabbits, turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese! You will laugh & cry in this interview! http://www.casanctuary.org/cas/about
