The Bridge Over Troubled Waters

GOP Governor, Chris Christie's recent landslide re-election in the very blue state of New Jersey surprised no one. Although always a controversial political figure, the polls indicated that Republican, as well as Democrat New Jerseyites overwhelmingly handed him a decisive win. Talk of Christie as GOP 2016 Presidential Candidate began to re-surface and many political analysts viewed Christie as the possible saviour of the Republican Party. The Office of the Governor's involvement, including Christie's top aides, in the unfolding George Washington bridge scandal may very well lead to the death Christie's political career. Political retribution against Fort Lee's democratic mayor, Mark Sokolich, is reminiscent of the 2004 blockbuster Mean Girls. To say the least, Christie's own past political behaviour makes his denial of involvement and forehand knowledge of his office's actions suspect.
