Sehin Belew came to the US from Ethiopia to attend College after finishing high school and working as a volunteer at a famine feeding camp for two years during a devastating famine in her native land. After she graduated from college with honors with a degree in Business Administration, Sehin spent the first five years working with the homeless in Bloomington, Illinois. In 1988, she was crowned Miss Ethiopia, the first to be crowned in 20 years. Sehin also worked as a professional model for ten years.
