What Are Your Intentions?

Why do people lie and say they are going to attend things,but have no intention on showing up?  Would the adult thing to say is I do not want to go!  If you know a person is not attractive and you would only be seen with them at night, but they pay for everything are those cruel intentions?  You drop out of High School and you become a parent and want to home school your children what are your intentions?  Your intentions are to control your mate and belittle the small group of friends you have what are your intentions?
