At first blush, it defies conventional wisdom. Challenge authority? Speak your (well-informed) mind? As kids we were raised to “sit up straight, mind your manners and do as you’re told…”  all in an effort to make compliant workers and dutiful members of a structured society.

Not all bad, but…

To subscribe to the “that’s how we’e always done it” mentality is a dangerous proposition. These days, we need more Leaders; people with the courage to think critically and question the status quo. But with one catch: Don’t be a loud-mouthed jerk in the process.

Join JT for a powerful conversation on the importance of questioning authority and being a free-thinker, where we’ll discuss:
- What happens when an authority figure gets defensive or angry at the challenge
- How (and why) to not make your challenge “personal”
- The importance of developing a well-rounded understanding of important issues (and not just a one-sided opinion)
- Why questioning authority brings about innovation and growth
- The danger of thinking authority figures are infallible and always acting in your best interest
- and much more

This episode is a bit on the controversial side, so listen with an open mind and prepare to strengthen your leadership muscles.
