Wow. My sometimes overinflated optimism for our future got coldcocked this week.

That Senate hearing was an eye-opener.

Was it that Trump had lied? No. We know all presidents massage the truth for their own benefit. We also know this president takes it to another level.

Was it that the Russians might have altered our elections? No. I doubt the Russians actually got into our voting machines and changed the votes.

No, what bothered me is that we are no longer the nation I want us to be.

All I saw on social media was more and more people sniping at each other calling each other lefties or righties or Communists and fascists.

For the record, I resent all of that. Why? Because I encompass all of them.

Plus, I think the majority of all of you encompass all of that too.

Look at my solutions for the country. Some of them are liberal like massive investment in infrastructure and worker re-training.

Others are very free market such as massive tax reform. I would wipe out most deductions. They are the product of special interests.

Others are real conservative.  I use the term real conservative -- because a real conservative is more concerned about responsibility rather than rights.

And when I talk about healthcare I talk about individuals taking responsibility for their own health -- not relying on their boss, the insurance bureaucracy, or a government official.

I am for freedom of religion, in fact, I have written numerous times how Christianity has formed the basis of an orderly society. However, I use my God-given brain to realize that when religion bands contraception, it is not a good idea for an overpopulated world.

So, stop with the labels. All they do is separate us more.
