Medicare Bidding and Harm to PWD
Medicare is a ticking time bomb that hardly any politician – and certainly no political party – is paying attention to.
Joining me on some upcoming segments here is Hugh Anderson of High Tower Las Vegas, an independent financial planning firm.
Hugh has just written a blog called Other People’s Money on www.HighTowerAdvisors.com on July 31st .
About the realities of Medicare and the numbers most of us don’t realize.
If you have heard me, you realize I see Medicare as a disaster looming. The dollar will devalue. We will have less for investment in education, infrastructure and military. Hugh Anderson does too, but he is not as doom and gloom as I am.

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
Medicare is a social insurance program that serves more than 44 million enrollees (as of 2008). The program costs about $432 billion, or 3.2% of GDP, in 2007. Medicaid is a social welfare (or social protection) program that serves about 40 million people (as of 2007) and costs about $330 billion, or 2.4% of GDP, in 2007. Together, Medicare and Medicaid represent 21% of the FY 2007 U.S. federal government.

We will also hear from Jazz Mills who will talk about her music and a project she is personally involved with
You need to start by knowing the basics. People who research their decision are far more likely to make a good choice.Today we will cover the main components Parts A & B, Part C, and Part D. Medicare.gov is the place to start learning about the plans. I suggest you also visit the Medicare Advantage plan website to get more specifics about plans you may be interested in.
I feel the information we will discuss today will help you beter understand the biggest decision you'll make this year.
Why is Medicare a ticking time bomb? There are two reasons. First, we have an aging population as Baby Boomers retire. Second, that aging population votes more than the younger generation. Hugh Anderson of High Tower Las Vegas says that’s true but younger folks are seeing what is happening.
But how do we treat older seniors with compassion while at the same time realizing that seniors feel they’re entitled to Medicare even though they have only paid one-third of what the actual cost will be.

Medicare Ticking Time Bomb Solutions
We’re talking with Hugh Anderson of High Tower Las Vegas – about Medicare being a ticking financial time bomb for the US economy.
Hugh has written about it on his blog on July 31st on www.HighTowerAdvisors.com
So I asked Hugh what are the solutions?
Those solutions have been recommended by the deficit reduction panels – Simpson Bowles and Rivlin Domenici – a few years ago. But politicians from both parties ignored them. How do we get these special interest politicians – which they all are – to listen to real solutions for all of us.
Investing advice is based on personal and individual needs, but I asked Hugh what should people be thinking about at the 30thousand foot level as far as their personal finances.
I GUESS I AM GOING TO SKIP BUYING THAT MONET.
