Career Coaching for Artists' David J. Diamond welcomes The Dramatist Guild's Gary Garrison as his special guest on December 10th, 2014. Gary is the playwright's best friend. Hear how he has crafted his own career and how he works with playwrights so they can maximize their opportunities to get their voices heard. Listen live and call in with questions or comments during the show. 

Gary Garrison is a playwright and author, as well as the Executive Director for Creative Affairs of the Dramatists Guild of America. The former Artistic Director and Division Head of Playwriting for the Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing at the Tisch School of the Arts, he continues working with graduate playwrights each semester as an active faculty member. As a guest artist and lecturer, he has traveled throughout the country speaking to hundreds of playwrights in college and university programs, small and large theatres and playwrights organizations. Each summer he heads a national playwriting intensive hosted at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. In 2005, Gary was named Outstanding Teacher of Playwriting by the Association for Theatre in Higher Education.

David J. Diamond is a director, career coach, activist-artist and professor. He was recently certified as an Advanced Transformative Coach and was awarded for his Community Service by Theatre of the Oppressed New York City. He currently teaches or guest lectures at Columbia University, Yale School of Drama, DePaul University, University of Memphis and others. He is a US Delegate to the International Theatre Institute and a Fulbright Specialist is Theatre.
