DR. MARIA CHOY IS LOCATED AT 470 HWY 79, MORGANVILLE NJ 732-591-5888

Board-certified and New York-trained neurologist, Dr. Choy graduated from Boston University with BA/MD degrees in six years in 1984 and went on to do her post-graduate training at various prestigious NYC hospitals. She is one of the first American-trained doctors to assimilate Western medicine with Eastern acupuncture, Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine principles (treating body, mind, and spirit) in her everyday practice. Because nutrition and lifestyle changes are essential for permanent change, Dr. Choy also acquired training in Integrative Nutrition. She implements all these modalities to help her patients attain better health while minimizing the use of drugs and optimizing cutting edge diagnostic procedures for individual care.  Dr. Choy also believes that we all must take ownership of our illnesses and take pro-active steps towards health.  A good doctor can guide and facilitate this process. Join Dr. Choy as she introduces Tony B. as a prime example of a man who has taken an active role in healing.  Despite being a certified personal trainer, Tony had constant health issues with migraines, vertigo and weight gain. He continued to “pack the pounds on” despite careful eating, low calories, high protein, low sugar and carbohydrates diet. He came to me for acupuncture with good relieve of his migraines but weight remained an issue. A master cleanse made him feel better but he still was overweight.  He eventually stopped daily diet coke and  weight started to come off.  However, as he exercised, fatigue and pain became an issue.  He started organic regimen, avoided GMO, gluten, artificial sweeteners, and alcohol with significant improvement in weight and physical symptoms. Join us as he tells us about his struggles and how the current quality of our foods might be producing what some doctors call “fibromyalgia”.
