“This book is a story about my own journey as a medical doctor toward creative integrative medicine. It is about my passion to promote changes in the health-care systems and medical schools that will lead to a greater understanding of the true nature of the human being and assist us in reaching our greatest potential through healing on all levels.”
“It is now time to redefine a form of medicine based on the new scientific model of understanding of the universe according to quantum physics — a creative integrative medicine. Doing so will be the key to solving the current health-care crisis, and it will lead to a new vision of integrative health care based not on disease but on the full potential of the individual. Our understanding of the human body will expand to include the body’s subtle energy systems and the mental and emotional connections to the physical body. How the mind works can be explored from a nondualistic viewpoint, compared to the dualistic philosophy used today. It will open the door to creative new approaches to healing that have the opportunity to solve problems still unresolved by conventional medicine, specifically in the areas of chronic and degenerative diseases.”
Join hosts, Dr. Kim Bloomer and Dr. Jeannie Thomason as they discuss once again integrative health care. Ought it to be? What about natural remedies versus prescription or OTC drugs? What is the real issue with those who write articles or make statements that are shared on this subject scaring people away from nature's remedies or scaring them enough to make them think they can only use them with a "doctor's" guidance? Join them as they discuss this hot button topic again.
"Patients want to be considered whole human beings in the context of their world," Dr. Weizer explains. Both doctors and patients alike are bonding with the philosophy of integrative medicine and its whole-person approach - between the patient and doctor, where the goal is to treat the mind, body, and spirit, all at the same time. Join Dr. Weizer for this incredbly interesting discussion.
How does integrative medicine work? One of Dr. Ken Weizer's patients was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and went into decline. She began chemo, lost weight, her hair was gone, and she was emotionally and physically drained. But how is she doing now? Dr. Ken gives us a picture of how integrative medicine assisted her.
There are many decisions that we have to take when it comes to our health- most are difficult and can be costly when made in error, so it is important to pay special attention to anything dealing with your health. One of these decisions is whether or not you want to embrace an integrated approach towards the prevention and treatment of disease. Today we are talking with Lizzie Davies to help us understand more about integrative medicine.
Lizzie is a Registered Nurse at the National Institute of Integrative Medicine and is affiliated with Anti-Aging Health Practitioners. In her own words, Lizzie guides patients in learning about a holistic approach in the quest of restoring their well-being. She takes the time to listen to patients talk about their health and addresses those symptoms to improve their overall state.
