I’ve talked about taking care of you first many times. But I have never found this truer than when I was faced with the sickness of a parent.  Their need is so intense and your emotions so out of control, that focusing on self care goes flying out the window.  When my 89-year-old mom had a heart attack this month, I gained 10lbs and lost lots of sleep in less than 2 weeks. I re-lost them quickly. What helped me change the backsliding? The road back from the chaos included going back to healthy lifestyle-exercise & good food, scheduling me time, asking for help, not asking too much of myself and pacing.  Lets see if any of these success lessons can help you.
