The accuracy of rape and violent sexual crime statics and data are not always accurate.  However, the estimates that have been made, regardless of their differences, are frightening and alarming.

Sexual assault is the most rapidly growing violent crime in the United States, and less than 50% of rapes that occur are actually reported.  Eighty percent of rapes are committed by someone who knows the victim, and 61% of female victims are under age 18. And, although the majority of rapes are perpetuated by a male, it is reported that 5% of reported rapes happen to male victims.

On this episode of Hot Topics Talk Radio, we’re going to discuss this very sensitive topic with women who have been victims of this heinous crime and how they have coped with the violation, as well as discussion on tips for keeping yourself safe, and provide a number of resources that are available should you become a victim.

Join us on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at 9:00pm PDT/11:00pm CDS/12:00 Midnight EDT, to discuss this very sensitive topic.
