Saying “no” to a request for sexual activity can often bring up feelings of shame and awkwardness, even with people with whom we are in ongoing relationships.

In a culture where we’re taught to not rock the boat, saying “no” to a simple (platonic) request may be hard, much less saying “no” to someone that you actually really like and want to do something sexual with later.
