"Men need to step up to the plate" is a cliche quite often used by females, especially single mothers. Becoming a mother is a conscious CHOICE made by her and her ALONE.

When one stands up to bat, only ONE person at a time holds the bat while at the plate.

The perfect hitting average for a batter is 1.00 and with baseballs flying at near 100MPH, a person from the planet Krypton would be hard pressed to reach that goal.

One can spout rhetoric all day but unless there is food on that plate, the women who continue to use the phrase will be waiting until hell freezes over for a man to step up just because THEY demand he do so.
