My guest is Kim Wuertz from Missouri who started writing and being published as a poet in her teenage years, Throughout her "day-job careers", kim has used her writing skills. As an early childhood education teacher she wrote finger plays and simple short stories for children. During her time as a fund raiser and strategic planner for small businesses and nonprofits, Kim became a certified grant writer, About five years ago, she devloped a curriculum for adults with developmental disabilities as part of her ministry work. For the past 20 years she has taught grant writing, strategic planning and inspirational self-explorations seminars.

When she was "downsized" from a marketing position in July 2009, Kim was in the process of writing a children's book for her niece. She decided it was time, she has written (and illustrated) books for children, a teen's book of short stories and her first novel, Life at Mimosa Lake: THe Story of a Winer Visitor which was published in August 2011. She currently teaches creative writing  workshops and goves presentations to schools, community groups and professional conferences about her books, life as a writer, and how to live your dreams.
