According the Family Caregiver Alliance, a National Center on Caregiving: the "typical" U.S. caregiver is a 46-year-old woman who works outside the home and spends more than 20 hours per week providing unpaid care to her mother.  What happens when that caregiver's older, has a full-time job, husband, children and grandchildren or any number of other responsibilities that competes for her attention while she cares for the needs of her ailing loved one.  Statistics won't reveal her concerns about acceptance and surrender around any outcomes in her life, especially that of her dying mother.

This caregive may ask:  "Is it wrong for me to need my mother to fight to live? Am I wrong for not wanting her to suffer, but wanting her to stay with me--because I need her too?  Anger, fear, guilt and grief are emotions we all have or will experience during our caregiving experience.  Is this wrong?  Who do you talk to?  Where is your support?  Who cares about you?

I invite you to join us every Tuesday at 12:30-1:30 PM CST to get your heartfelt questions answered, find a place where we discuss YOUR feelings, while offering healthy solutions to some of your concerns.  This Caregiver Platform is for YOU.  No matter where you're in the caregiving process, listen to other caregivers--professionals and those taking care of family or friends reveal to you what has been their "saving grace."  You'll receive practical tools to support your effectiveness as a caregiver while receiving spiritual fuel to replenish your spirit.

Join Dr. Deirdre J. Burrell, DAOMc, LAc., The Caregivers Coach and her Co-Host, Dr. Rachel Lindsey, retired Dean, Professor and long-term caregiver for lively talks with our guests each week.  Grab a cup of tea, take that mid-day break with us every Tuesday at 12:30-1:30 PM CST.
