Russia increases nuclear arsenal (Second Coming Watch #644)

1. President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday that Russia would add more than 40 new intercontinental ballistic missiles to its nuclear arsenal this year and a defence official accused NATO of provoking a new arms race.

3. The Israeli ClearSky cybersecurity company said it has discovered an ongoing wave of cyber attacks originating from Iran on targets in Israel and the Middle East. The firm said the goal is "espionage or other nation-state interests."

4. Asteroid Icarus, the kilometre-long spacerock named after the Greek mythological character that flew too close to the sun, will skim past the Earth on Tuesday night making a rare "distant pass" of five million miles.

5.China says it will complete a series of controversial land reclamation projects in the South China Sea "soon".
