Top U.S. official warns Russia that the world as we know it may be about to end. According to the European Union Times, a new report prepared by the Foreign Intelligence Service circulating in the Kremlin says that the United States top National Security Advisor to President Obama, Thomas Donilon, was granted a “rushed meeting” with President Putin this past Friday wherein he warned the Russian leader that the world as we know it may be about to end. According to this report, the Obama administration became alarmed last week after Russia’s top military official, Chief of the General Staff Nik-o-lai Mak-a-rov, threatened to carry out a pre-emptive strike if Washington goes ahead with its plan to build a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe.
Russia says action on Syria and Iran may lead to a nuclear war. According to Reuters, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev warned that military action against sovereign states could lead to a regional nuclear war, starkly voicing Moscow's opposition to Western intervention ahead of a G8 summit at which Syria and Iran will be discussed. He said, "Hasty military operations in foreign states usually bring radicals to power."
