Inflammation is the starting point for nearly all diseases. From arthritis to certain cancers, inflammation is a key component. Certain blood tests can tell us if you have inflammation going on but not where.

Shirley talks about the secret places you’ll find inflammation, and how inflammation contributes to many of life’s ills.

Charles Whitney, M.D. is double boarded in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his family practice residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center. He served as a physician in the United States Air Force before joining the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where he established his Direct Primary Care practice, Revolutionary Health Services, in 2003.

He served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Private Physicians, the national trade organization of Direct Primary Care practices from 2007-2013, and was Vice-president from May 2012 to May 2013.  He was recently named a “Top Doc” in Concierge Medicine by Concierge Medicine Today, the only physician in Pennsylvania to earn that distinction in 2013.  Dr. Whitney is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Pennwell Publishers, a leading provider of peer-reviewed continuing education credits and is a member of the steering committee of the Direct Primary Care Coalition.
