Carson’s Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates: Monday, March 13, 2019

Sid Ryan on the Fight for Workers’ Rights

Join us, Monday, March 13, 2019, at 11 pm Eastern Daylight Time, for Carson’s Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates. On Carson’s Corner, we discuss the news and events of the last week, with a socialist, revolutionary, and non-electoral perspective.

On this special episode, Bob Carson and Chris Driscoll interview Sid Ryan, Canadian labor leader and politician in the New Democratic Party. Ryan will talk about his book, “A Grander Vision: My Life in the Labour Movement,” a  manifesto that calls for the organization of a new brand of social-unionism in which labor unites with struggles for social and economic justice, a plan that strengthens both labor and people’s movements.

Ryan was president of the Ontario Federation of Labour, and has run for provincial and federal office under the NDP banner. As well, Ryan has fought for civil rights and the Republican cause of his native Northern Ireland and the rights of Palestinians.
