Brown Posey Press Show--C. Flynt, Author of "Promised Rewards"

    in Books

"Promised Rewards" is a tale that takes the reader through 9th Century England, and follows an aspiring Bard, who tells the tales of the axe-wielding hero Sigurd. They don't quite start out that way, but seeking adventure means conflict, friendship, and perhaps even love as the two make their way through uncertain times.
The story is one of many from Clif Flynt, who joins the Brown Posey Press Show to discuss how Bard and Sigard came about. With a background in folk music, computer programming and as a technical author, Clif has turned his skills toward short stories and the soon-to-be ongoing epic of his heroes.
Clif is also the author of "You're Not From Around Here, Are You?" These and other works can be found on his website. He lives Michigan.

    About Our Guest:
Catherine W. Rouhana, a Baltimore native and second of 10 children, embarked on a unique life journey. Meeting her husband Nagib in college, they closed their Polish interest bookstore when his role at the World Bank led to a position in Saudi Arabia. Living in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon during the late ’70s and early ’80s, the couple faced the perils of political involvement and the challenges of war.
In 1986, Catherine moved back to the U.S. with her children, while Nagib remained in the Middle East. Over 18 years, she chronicled her experiences, learning about writing, publishing, and herself. Despite the international separation, family unity remained crucial.
Catherine’s upcoming memoir reflects a life shaped by love, international adventures, and the enduring strength of family bonds amidst geopolitical complexities.

Have You Met Her? Mary Brotherton That Is

    in Books

After years of writing and editing for other's, seeing my name on their mastheads, I took a break in 2012 to become my mother's caregiver. When she crossed over two years later, I thought I could step back into the same path I'd walked for much of my career. Life threw me a curve. In 2018, I joined other professionals to create bUneke. At bUneke (be unique), we provide a free, educational publication that highlights people doing amazing things to make our world better. Since then, we have featured more than 3,000 charities, philanthropic businesses, and individuals who are working today to change tomorrow. I still write and edit as a freelancer, as time permits. bUneke is my passion and if you want to be a part of the movement, we welcome you to join us! I published my first book in 2022, after working on it for 40 years. My second book was released in the spring of 2023, after only 90 days from the first thought to the last page. A third book was inspired by a conversation with another author. Now, I am looking to rejoin the workforce and contribute to an organization that can make an impact on the world, rather than just my little corner of it.

Dr. Eva Hnizdo Jewish female doctor turned historical fictional novelist

    in Books

    About the author
I am a Jewish Czech, born in Prague in 1953.
Whenever my family thought about emigration and decided against it, they made a mistake. Many of my relatives died in the concentration camps. My parents, after surviving the Holocaust, spent their lives under an oppressive communist regime.
I studied medicine at Charles University in Prague and became a doctor. I was a refugee and obtained political asylum in the UK in 1986.
I’m a retired general practitioner. I worked in the same surgery in Watford for 23 years, patients knew me as “ Doctor Heller” because nobody could pronounce my surname.
During almost 40 years of working as a doctor, I had the privilege to see into my patients’ lives, their problems, and their solutions to those problems. I feel it is not a coincidence that many writers are medical doctors. They have many stories to tell. I am now retired and spend my time writing.
My novel “Why Didn’t They Leave?” is being published on 28th September 2021
