Opposing views on the current gridlock in Cote ‘d’ Ivoire argue that African Leadership and International Community agencies are overstepping their boundaries by asking the incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo to step down without challenging the decision of the Independent Election Commision who declared Opposition Leader Alassane Ouatarra the winner of the recent election conducted last November in Ivory coast. It is further suggested that France, the former colonial master of Ivory Coast rushed to recognize the Mr. Alassane Ouatarra without due process.
