In today’s society, both sexes must be treated equally and fairly, even in the world of sports. However, boxing by females is not really even recognized as a sport by most diehard fans.

For a little while, Christy Martin was a pretty big name in the sport.  She is still fighting and currently holds title as world champion. Other notable names include, Laila Ali, and Holly Holm. Some suggest that women's boxing is more dangerous than men's. But there is no real medical argument for this claim.

Canadian Jeannine Garside, who holds four featherweight (57-kg) world titles, is just one, amongst a group of hopefuls who believe the inclusion of female boxing at the 2012 London Summer Olympics could change the financial reality of the sport for women - a story many have heard before.

Still attempting to get more exposure for the sport, we’ll go a round or two with the"Most Accomplished Boxer of the Year" for 2010,Jeannine GarsideLIVE at BEYONDtheCheers on Wednesday May 4th at 7PM EST.Dial-in TOLL FREE 1-877-357-2448 in Canada and United States.
