When crabs are in a barrel or bucket and the chef reaches in to take some of the crabs out to cook,or if the crabs try to crawl out, the other crabs grab on to the crabs that are leaving. This make it difficult for the crabs to crawl out or be pulled out. Sometime the remaining crabs hold on to the point of breaking off the limbs of the exiting crabs. This is called the Crab Mentality Syndrome. It has been said that African Americans have the Crab Mentality Syndrome. The Crab Mentality Syndrome says that when one person in the African American Community tries to get a head, the other African Americans grab onto him and hold him back. This show explores the fallacy of the Crab Mentality. We go to the beach and observe crabs in there natural habitat and see if the Crab Mentality holds true.
