Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers and Welcome to the 3rd installment of...GLAUCOMA IN BASSET HOUNDS - BLIND COLONY USED FOR SECRET RESEARCH.

Transparency Illuminates The Pathway To Accountability

This blind basset hound colony is being held in secret and many folks that I know are involved. Some I don't know are involved. Dr. Gillian McLellan from the University of WI is now in charge of the colony & breeding has been ramped up.  At one point (very recently) the colony was in the process of being disbanded but more financial backing was found.

So, what does this all mean? Years ago Iowa State was responsible for the colony. Then, University of Iowa took ownership but not really. According to Sinisa Grozdanic D.V.M., Ph.D., Dipl ACVO, (June of 2010)  "we still do not have any regulatory mechanisms available at this time to do a legal adoption, since all our dogs are owned by State of Iowa and US government."

Note from Cat: Please go to my sub-blog and read the entire thing. It is long and it has taken me years to put together. Here is a link.

So, this is speculation but I think the colony has been with the same BHCA breeder or very close to that breeder for some time now. I think a basset rescue is working w/ that breeder in some cases. Now, the breeding in the colony is ramping up and I am sick and tired of it. Right now they need a hero and not the greedy pricks hiding behind them. Please support my research with information only. I need your help.
