We are happy to say our good friend Jennifer Cook-O'Toole is coming back to Autism and Scouting Radio.

Many scouts on the Autism Spectrum have an intense interest or two that can hold their attention for a long period of time. These are often referred to as "Special Interests".

In Jennifer's first book, "Asperkids: An Insider’s Guide to Loving, Understanding and Teaching Children with Asperger Syndrome", Jennifer, talks in depth how to get into a child's world via their special interest. Understanding how to tap into a scout's special interest and apply it to scouting can make scouting more rewarding and successful scouts, parents and leaders.

I am going to give Jennifer a challenge. I will give her an area of scouting and a special interest that may seem unrelated to scouting and she will share ways that you can teach the scout and help him or her engage and relate to others using that special interest

Jennifer, besides being a SuperMom, Autism Advocate and Aspie herself  is an Award winning author and the creator of Asperkids, LLC.

Her latest book, "The Asperkid’s (Secret) Book of Social Rules: A Handbook of Not-So-Obvious Social Guidelines for Teens & Tweens with Asperger Syndrome" is a must read for anybody that has a scout who has Asperger's.
