Most of us have been told by someone, at some point in our lives, that we are “SPECIAL”. We make a choice in that instant to believe what they are saying or to ignore the compliment. Our belief system will interpret what “SPECIAL” means to us based on our experiences at home, school, work and other environments we have spent time in. Most importantly, how we see ourselves depends on how much we believe the person(s) telling us how “SPECIAL” we are and why they think we deserve to be categorized apart from others who are  “NOT SPECIAL”. Professor Applewhite graduated with a degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation and focuses her energy in the field of Adult Education and Educational Psychology. She has invited guests from these fields and looks forward to hearing from you, too!
