The Bad Teacher
We hear the term "bad teacher" thrown around in schools, homes and in the media to support the attacks against them. Cities are laying off teachers in droves because of lack of money and failing education systems. Is it the teachers faults that these systems are failing? Are the schools saturated with so many bad teachers that our children aren't learning? Or does society create the bad teacher as a villain? Tune or Call in to weigh on this topic

This coming Tuesday night, June 14 at 9 PM EDT. One of the most egregious cases of Teacher Abuse ever! My guest works in a District 26 MS. She has been with the DOE for 12 years. Her current principal hired her at his school. She went back into the classroom signed a grievance, got a U rated lesson. She then became chapter leader and never got anything but U ratings. She is now facing termination charges for incompetence based on 3 years of observations that are poorly written fiction. T

On February 1, we are welcoming Christal Watts, teacher and union president from Vallejo, CA. Christal has taught for 8 years in an urban school and has been president in my local, the Vallejo Education Association for the past 1-1/2 years. Christal went back to school with the intent of getting a law degree. When she saw the time & commitment (AND the money) involved, decided that perhaps that wasn't the wisest of choice for a now mother of three. Christal earned my BA in Government at CSU-Sac

Bronx Teacher AKA Pete Zucker Is Running For Office
Seriously, he is. He is running for Union Rep or Chapter Leader or whatever in The Bronx, an American hell-hole, where he is a teacher or something. He, like all politicians, tried to pay me to put him on the air and lob softballs his way. I said I would do it for free. I might not though. Lob softballs that is. If there is time I will discuss some of my own reactions to a couple of recent issues: Charles Blow's article and SOS imploding.
