Human Movement on We Deserve Better with Dr. Dorrin Rosenfeld
in Fitness
Dr Emily Splichal is a functional podiatrist and human movement specialist. She believes that the feet are the core of the body, creating a physical grounding from which our mental and emotional awareness are then produced. For over 20 years, she has studied postural alignment and human movement. She teaches that our feet are the gateway into the nervous system.
During her career, Dr. Splichal has founded EBFA Global, created the Barefoot Training Specialist® Certification, authored Barefoot Strong and has Founded the website: Naboso Technology. All of these projects are based on the idea that the feet are responsible for a great deal of the sensory awareness of our body.
She will talk about how strokes and other breakdowns between the body and the brain can harm this connection. But there is always a way to repair our core.

Time to laugh and be happy!
in Fitness
While it may not be the appropriate comment - Time to laugh and be happy! during this difficult time in the world, it just may be what my special guest Jim Ryan will recommend. Jim Ryan is the author of Simple Happiness, 52 Easy Ways to Lighten Up which has met with rave reviews. Thousands on Jim’s email list wait anxiously every Wednesday morning for his uplifting and sometimes challenging “Aha Moments”.
Tune in to have your "Aha moment!"
Jim's Bio -
Jim Ryan’s career has evolved as his life has evolved. He started out as a foreign language teacher and guidance counselor in Bethpage, NY. After spending 14 years in education, he went on to become a financial planner. His experience in both the educational and business worlds has him firmly grounded in the real world. Jim is married and the father of three grown children.
In the year 2000, Jim decided to give back to his community by volunteering in his local prison system, teaching a course in personal development. The first thing every Monday morning, Jim brings his positive, yet realistic message to a group of men and a group of women at the DWI Alternative Facility on Long Island. He has hardly missed a Monday since he started. The overwhelmingly enthusiastic response of the inmates spurred him to bring his message to the public.
Jim has spoken all over the USA inspiring tens of thousands to live to their potential. His greatest pleasure is opening up listeners’ minds to the possibilities that exist for living happy, more joyful lives. Jim is just as comfortable speaking to an audience of 1,000 as he is facilitating an intimate offsite executive retreat.

What Does It Mean To Have A Zest For Living?
in Fitness
What does it mean to a zest for life?
According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary, zest is defined as "an enjoyably exciting quality" or a "keen enjoyment". Can we take that, and break it down into smaller digestible pieces? One starts by looking at what's going on in a smaller part of the world. Look at yourself, and then possibly what you do.
I'll share with you a few ways you can understand the concept of zest.
