Oscar Mwaanga is an international Sport for Social Change (SSC) activist and academic. As an activist he has focused his work around sport as a tool for addressing HIV/AIDS and empowering marginalized groups in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Oscar is recognized as one of the leaders of the Sub-Saharan Africa SSC movement of the last decade especially after founding the first SSC organisation He is currently completing his PhD at Leeds Metropolitan University where his dissertation project focuses on investigating the role of sports empowerment for HIV positive people in Zambia. Oscar will be our guest On Health Watch Saturday May 7 to discuss the work of his organization and we can contribute or support his efforts as a community. in Zambia called EduSport Foundation.
