Mary Thompson started her career in NY as an underwriter for General Accident Insurance Company over 30 years ago. She then went to the agency side as an account manager for commercial insurance.

She relocated to Las Vegas where she has remained a Nevada resident for over 25 years. Her experience includes sales and executive management for all lines of insurance coverage specializing in Property, Casualty, Workers’ Compensation and Employee Benefits. Ms. Thompson is currently the President for Capstone Brokerage. She has work on both the agency and company side of the industry in Nevada with positions in Executive & Sales Management, Agency Operations, Director of Marketing, Bond Manager & Director of Human Resources. 

Cynthia Throm (Cindy) is the Founder and President of Employers Benefits Design. Prior to opening EBD, Inc. in 1991, Cindy was an account executive for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nevada. It was there that Cindy discovered that one size does not fit all, and that no one single insurance company meets everyone’s needs. Prior to Blue Cross, Cindy worked for State Farm, and as a claims manager for Aetna. She was a Respiratory Therapist before entering the insurance field.

It is her varied background that gives her a unique perspective into the dynamics of health insurance, having worked for an insurance company in sales, paying claims submitted by providers, and working for a hospital that billed insurance companies. This unique insight is invaluable in assisting her clients navigate the cumbersome systems of managed care.
