Self-Control: The Fruit of the Spirit

When we are filled with the Spirit of God, certain indications should be evident. Many people or rather most Spirit-filled believers today agree that when you are baptized with the Spirit, the intial evidence of that baptism is that you will "speak with tongues" as they did on the day of Pentecost following Jesus' ascension. However, once you are filled with the Spirit, there is a subsequent evidence which is: the Fruit of the Spirit. If indeed one is filled with the Spirit, why then does one continue to walk in the ways of the flesh. Any fruit tree will produce fruit if the conditions are right, the soil, the weather and the environment. Likewise, if we are connected to the vine and filled with the Spirit, we should be producing some supernatural "fruit". Next week, July 7th at 10:00am eastern, we will begin by exploring the fruit of being filled with the Spirit: self-control. This is going to be a tough topic for some, myself included. I wonder what the week will bring as I endeavor to bear fruit.
