No Greater Love-No Whitewashing Truth

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.  [1Pet 5:2, 3]

The plain truth is that if we profess to be children of obedience, of God (Yhvh our Creator) through Jesus Christ, then we become examples to a lost and dying world. Understanding and knowing that in itself causes us to walk in true humility, knowing we are accountable to God (first) and all who see us (second). 

If truth is whitewashed, it is no longer transparent. It then becomes glossed over, sugarcoated, camoflauged, suppressed - take your pick. We serve a God of truth. Yet, even His people can either speak by the spirit of truth or a spirit of error; there is no in-between (unless of course one is lukewarm, in which case the Lord will spew us out of His mouth - see Revelation 3:16).

Because Jesus is the truth, way and life, all that He spoke was truth, even hard truths. For this reason, He was hated, persecutated and eventually killed (crucified). If we are molded in His image, then we must follow His lead, and expect the same backlash that He got.

We are examples, no matter what we go through, just as those who went ahead of us. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. [1Cor 10:11]
