Welcome to the Voice of Change.  I'm Sharon Ann Wikoff, host of the program.  Today I will be sharing my personal story of living in a home with both my Mother and Father who smoked.  Although I've always had remembrances of my later childhood and the ways I attempted to remove myself for the smoking area, it wasn't until the last 10 years, that those remembrances went back to infancy.  These latest remembrances were profound to me at the time and continue to be very significant.  In addition, I've researched the science behind them and see what affects they've had on my life.  Although information is out there about the effects of smoking on children, the effects of second hand smoke and third had smoke, the facts are dry and often don't touch one deeply.  It's my desire to share this information in a way, that truly reveals the depth of it's affect on the child as well as the smoker.

In addition, during this program I'll address the importance of having COMPASSION for ourself, our parents,  our children...really everyone.  So, as we come to know we want to make changes, we must not walk down the path of guilt, but one of love, forgiveness and compassion.  It's only in the field of love and acceptance that we can move forward and make significant change in our lives.
