Women's Networks are a great thing. But we often feel compelled to join EVERY one that happens across our path. Sometimes it's out of obligation, sometimes it's because we know the people who organize them, sometimes it's because we just want to be a part of as many of these things as time allows. But how do we know which ones are of value to us? What makes us want to join a "network" to begin with? We often set these high expectations of what we think a network should do for us, then get disappointed when they fail to live up to what we thought they should. But it's a two way street. You can't join something in name only just to lurk and observe. You can't be part of something and never contribute. You can't find value in something you joined not understanding the mission, values and agenda of. You need to thoroughly investigate each network before making that decision to join. Then you have to make a commitment to be INVOLVED. We’ll be talking about the most effective ways to use women’s networks, including social networks, how to build lasting relationships, how to contribute and get value from them, issues that should be discussed, level of commitment to networks, and how to be discerning in choosing networks that are mutually beneficial. We'll also discuss stepping out of the "Women Only" fold to expand your reach, knowledge and influence.
