With so many organizations eager to embark on big data initiatives, some are establishing big data teams in isolation, away from existing analytics resources. That could doom the big data strategy to failure.

Bill Franks, author, thought leader, and chief analytics officer for Teradata, has noticed a key flaw in the big data approaches for too many organizations. He says that one of the most common mistakes organizations make as they try to incorporate big data into their analytics processes, is that they consider big data as having a completely separate and distinct set of capabilities.

Franks has seen companies set up internal processes and organizational features to focus specifically -- and only -- on big data, this approach, unfortunately, is a recipe for trouble and can ultimately have a negative impact on an organization’s bottom line.

Franks joins All Analytics Radio on Friday, Dec. 11, at 1:30 pm EST to discuss how organizations can best structure their big data operations. Be sure to listen as Franks looks at some of the mistakes that organizations need to avoid in 2016, and he shares best practices for integrating big data analytics with the overall analytics structure.
