In Memory Of Jaheem Herrera---Ga. County Fights Against School Bullying ! In May of this year, Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue signed a new Anti-Bullying Law into effect on the one year anniversary of the death of 11-year-old DeKalb student, Jaheem Herrera. Repeated school bullying, and school officials' disbelief, reportedly lead to the student's suicide. Georgia's revised Anti-Bullying Law is considered by child advocate organizations as one of the toughest in the nation protecting elementary and secondary schools students. DeKalb County is working to take a school system lead in bully prevention and student protection.
