Real Pork in Washington

Marita Noon joins Joe to discuss one of the first items of business for the lame duck Congress: supporting the 9th extension of the Production Tax Credit, the lifeblood of the Wind Energy Assoc.

As Ms. Noon says, "The U.S. wind energy business ...enjoyed an entitled childhood at taxpayer expense, and, by now, should have blossomed into an adult.” Sadly, wind energy is more like the adult offspring living in the taxpayer’s basement, not able to function without assistance and with no plan to strike out on their own. Indeed, wind energy would not exist but for the subsidies. General Electric and billionaire Warren Buffet received the bulk of that taxpayer largesse, totaling billions of dollars.
