Bees of all species, as well as other insects, are declining in numbers because of the increased use of agricultural chemicals, the destruction of their natural habitat and the accidental importation of diseases and parasites. As the population continues to decline, we need to do what we can to create food sources our pollinators. A Bee-Friendly Zone is a safe place where bees and other insects can nest, forage for pollen and nectar and go about their business without coming into contact with potentially toxic chemicals.

Phil Chandler, an activist, educator and radio show host of The Barefoot Beekeeper which is the most popular radio show about beekeeping has come up with a plan! Phil has recently launched his own initiative called www.beefriendlyzone.com which encourages people all over the world to create a pesticide, friendly environment that bees can safely exist. The site also serves as a hub for people to learn about beekeeping and connect with other like-minded people.

In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Beekeeping Expert and Radio Host, Phil Chandler, author of the Barefoot Beekeeper (http://www.biobees.com/) Stay tuned!
