Facing Uncertainty and Overcoming Fear

Uncertainty in the world is causing many problems including the unrest in England, the stock market, and many other examples.  We feel like we are not in control. What can we do to face the feeling of uncertainty that is in our face from the media and other sources?  What can we do to overcome the fear starting to settle in?
