    The Uncertainty Factor & Limiting Expectations Course

    in Motivation

    There will always be uncertainty in life, and especially when you start breaking out of the mould of who you are now to become who you should be. Things like fear, failure, rejection, and disappointment are all going to come knocking at your door. So what should you do? Throw in the towel now, before you have even gotten started?

    No! There is only one way to overcome uncertainty, and that is have your mind, heart, and soul laser-focused on becoming what your creator put you here to do. When you do that, no force on Earth can stop you!

    If I asked you right now if you are ready to go out and start living the way you should be, what would you say? I suspect that, at this point in the book, you might say yes. Yes, you are probably getting more and more hopeful about your future and excited that you can actually overcome your current circumstances. And that is fantastic!

    But what if I asked you if you if you were ready to proclaim your expectations of yourself to the entire world? Would you say yes to that? Most people will probably be a little, or even a lot, more hesitant about doing that. And that is completely understandable.

    It can be hard to proclaim that you have high expectations for yourself, because people are going to hold you to them. Am I right?

    So I am going to make it easy on you. Instead of asking you to tell the world what you expect of yourself, I want you to just tell yourself. Using the seven statements below as guide, create your own high expectations for yourself, and them read them daily.

    Susin W Peterson How to Live on Purpose

    in Lifestyle

    Susin W Peterson is a daycare inspector, and formal child protective investigator. She is  a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Over the past twenty-three years she has lived from Columbus, Ohio to Hollywood, Florida. In 1990 she gave birth to one daughter, having gone through many crises with her daughter’s health issues, and other family health issues, her life is filled with suspense, faith, uncertainty, love and lessons learned. The subject of poor health was not a familiar subject until her daughter, Amanda was born. The  emotional, and physical stresses that come along with poor health, divorce, domestic violence, poor mental health, unemployment and a long list of other issues to be solved has been a vicious cycle in her life. Her story is also about how hope is found through family, friends, and the power of prayer. There are discussions about how life continues after death. But the most important message is how to live with purpose.  She is a current resident of DeLand, Florida.

    in Christianity

    Had Adventists, after the great disappointment in 1844, held fast their faith, and followed on unitedly in the opening providence of God, receiving the message of the third angel and in the power of the Holy Spirit proclaiming it to the world, ...the Lord would have wrought mightily with their efforts, the work would have been completed, and Christ would have come ere this to receive His people to their reward. – {Mar 61.4}

    But in the period of doubt and uncertainty that followed the disappointment, many of the advent believers yielded their faith.... Thus the work was hindered, and the world was left in darkness.... – {Mar 61.5}

    For forty years did unbelief, murmuring, and rebellion shut out ancient Israel from the land of Canaan. The same sins have delayed the entrance of modern Israel into the heavenly Canaan. In neither case were the promises of God at fault. It is the unbelief, the worldliness, unconsecration, and strife among the Lord’s professed people that have kept us in this world of sin and sorrow so many years. – {Mar 61.6}

    Opening Your Eyes to The Dangers of Dementia and Denial

    in Caregiving

    Denial About Dementia is a Common Occurance

    From time to time, we're all in denial about various aspects of our life. It's how we cope — denial masks emotions of grief, loss, fear and uncertainty.

    What causes denial? Many things: lack of communication, distance, self-preservation, fear of the unknown and uncertainty about the future. Denial, however, leads to the continuation of a downward spiral and makes the diagnosis of dementia even more traumatic and difficult to face.

    At first, denial at it's best can be a healthy defense against admitting that your loved one has dementia.

    Denial involves not acknowledging what you see or hear and/or unconsciously negating what you see or hear. Denial helps you block the more painful aspects of reality. However, if denial continues too long, then it can be life-threatening to you and your loved one.

    Denial about dementia at it's worst can mean the withholding of essential treatment or development of a helpful care plan going forward.

    When family caregivers are unrealistic about their loved one with dementia's level of functioning and care needs, they put their loved ones at risk.

    "When my dad developed dementia, my mom tried to deny it and I tried to fix it. We both failed"

    We see things changing and notice the person losing the ability to do what they once could. Often we're reluctant to step in and take over as it may feel like we're giving up on the person or crushing their independence.

    Today we will be talking about how to maintain a realistic outlook on your loved one’s care, and thoughts on helping your other family members do the same. Tune in and listen to our guest this show, Theresa Haleen, Business Development Representative for Interim Healthcare and owner of Assisted Living Options for Seniors share her perspective on denial.

    A Conversation About End of Life Care: The How, Why, Who and When

    in Health

    Howard Block and I will be discussing how to talk about end of life care with a loved one, patient or friend.  It can be difficult to know how to approach the topic and exactly what to say.  We will discuss why it shouldn't be a conversation with  only your doctor but also your family.  Why is it important?  It is a topic no one wants to have but it can be so helpful knowing what a loved onewants when death is near. We both have had the experience of working with people who knew what they wanted and others who didn't.  We have learned the importance of this conversation and how it helps families.  We are talking about people saying exactly how much care they want whether full code or not.  We hope to remove some of the fear and uncertainty that people experience.  It is our goal for listeners to know it is their choice.

    The path of life and joy.

    in The Bible

    We ask that you find a quiet spot for just 15 minutes. Treat yourself! This simple, but much needed message will cause you to ponder two questions: "Do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? " And, "Do you know what a single day may bring forth?" Please do not fret and think that you should have it all figured out. You see, what happens today or tomorrow is not based on our ability to guess, plan, speculate, predict, or deduce.

    The real question is "Are we ready for anything?" Our trust, faith, and confidence in the Lord should sustain us with certainty when we encounter the unseen and unknown. We can thank the Lord, because it is His love that arranges our journey for today and tomorrow; we may be certain that whatever it brings, His love sent it our way.

    No matter what we face in life, there can be peace and contentment because of what's known as fellowship with the Lord. We can be in His arms, awaiting His glorious return! Jesus is the only reason for our hope today, tomorrow, and years to come.

    Join our podcast as we talk about King David and how he praised the Lord, in all kinds of circumstances, for His guidance, preservation, safety and blessings.

    Celebrity Kills Champions: The Fall of Ronda Rousey

    in Sports

    How the mighty have fallen.  Prior UFC Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is facing a great deal of uncertainty about her career after a shocking loss to Holly Holm in UFC 193.  Where did she go wrong?  Where does she go from here?  What about the impact on UFC going forward?  The Core Show panelists will give you all the answers and what you can expect going forward.

    NFL Week 10 saw the Minnesota Vikings take over the NFC North from the suddenly toothless Green Bay Packers.  Can the Vikings win the NFC North given they are yet to face the Packers?  After possibly the worst game of his illustrious career with 5 of 20 passing for 35 yards and 4 interceptions against the Kansas City Chiefs, is it time for Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning to step aside for good?  We'll address those issues and more during the 4 Corners of Football segment.

    In the Ramscentric segment featuring members from the Facebook group LA RAMS vs St Louis Rams, we will explore the development of Disney CEO Robert Iger joining team Carson and aligning himself with San Diego Chargers owner Dean Spanos and Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis.  Is his presence a game changer as far as where the eventual LA football stadium will end up?

    On the NBA front, we will examine the struggles for the Los Angeles Lakers and head coach Byron Scott.  We'll explain why Scott is in the wrong place at the wrong time as well as explain a tendency he has shown in terms of the lineups he utilizes during the 4th quarter in games so far this season.

    We have something for everybody. Enjoy!
