The Importance of Positive Black Characters & Heros

We seem to be low on heros that our children can turn to for examples. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern and the Incredible Hulk dont look like them but they seem to always save the day. Are we teaching them that whites are the ones to turn to in a crisis?
