Ever since I was a kid I stuttered. I've given more than 650 speeches and it still drives me CRAZY that I still stutter. This sermon I stuttered quite a bit. In fact, I edited out the times I stuttered (got stuck) the worst. Often times I have been so discouraged and wonder why I was "chosen" to do my best to impact the world. I , literally, HATE the fact that I stutter. Regardless, I keep moving forward.
In this sermon I share many stories including a story about a man who was catching crabs, there could have been doubts by some of Jesus' followers about others who were following Jesus, a story about a man raised in South Africa who moved to the USA and went to a baseball game, a bucket of water story and much more.
Also, two quotes that grabbed me:
“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” ? Martin Luther King Jr.
“The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: 'If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?' But...the good Samaritan reversed the question: 'If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?” ? Martin Luther King Jr.
