Jim Bender is President and Founder of Strategic Consulting Solutions – LLC, a company born from the vision that we all have the responsibility to watch out for each another.  He also believes that we must be good stewards of our resources.  This is most true when we consider our human resources.  Ensuring the safety of our employees, students, customers, congregants and the public must be a priority.  SCS was established to come alongside businesses, schools, and places of worship to assess levels of safety and security, analyze current safety measures, and assist in creating security plans and communication protocols.

Jim’s experience spans both the public and private sector. His experience in threat response and crisis management was instrumental in developing emergency plans and crisis communication protocols.  His experience has been used by businesses, schools, and churches to create cultures of safety.

Jim Caauwe is a Principle and Co-Founder of Strategic Consulting Solutions – LLC

Jim Caauwe’s experience begins with 10 years as a police officer in Texas, and continued with 17 years with the Bloomington Police Department.  He now works as a civilian with the Savage Police Department, and is an instructor at several colleges and universities in their criminal justice programs.

With a bachelors degree in emergency management, Jim has spent the last 15 years working with places of worship, schools and businesses helping them to establish emergency plans.  These efforts went into high gear after the 2007 church shootings in Colorado Springs.

Jim’s experience as a Hostage Negotiator, a property crimes investigator and instructor have helped him to facilitate safety teams in both public and private settings to make their places of business safer.
