Joe Gillum has been around Texas a long time and was apart of the early management of the A.O.K.
The Amateur Organization of Karate, yes was part of the management of one of the oldest (40 years this year) Sport Karate Groups in America,,
Joe was fighter 
A good fighter, a smart fighter and a cagey fighter with a patented Reverse punch that had timing and precision to always score points needed to win or get out of a jam! He could knock you into the next zip code with his Texas Side Kick that has been handed down since the early 1960's, had control but could bang with the best fighters.

He fought everybody and would always be in the Grands for winning his division We will talk of that era and the champions he fought, where is Texas now in sport karate and what was it like to receive the prestigious Joe Lewis Memorial Dragon Image Fighting Award this year at the Living Legends Celebrity Roast, become a History General for the Sport Karate Museum, fight World Champion Ishmael Robles for his 9th Dan Black Belt Test!
